Student Business

AMTAS will conduct our annual business during virtual student meetings, where we use Robert's Rules of Order to guide our process and ensure that all proceedings are organized and efficient. These meetings are crucial for the organization as they involve a comprehensive review of the budget, along with formal reports from the AMTAS Executive Board, standing committee representatives, and regional student organizations. Additionally, updates from various parts of the organization are shared, providing a clear picture of the current state of AMTAS. This structured approach allows us to reflect on our achievements, address challenges, and outline our path forward in a transparent and orderly manner.

During these meetings, key decisions are made through voting, including the election of new executive board members, the approval of bylaw revisions, and the finalization of the budget for the upcoming year. While all students in attendance are welcome to participate in the discussions, voting and running for office are privileges reserved for AMTA members. With a deep respect for AMTAS’s history and a clear understanding of our annual business obligations, we are committed to creating an accessible, inclusive, and person-centered environment during these meetings. This approach ensures that our community feels valued and heard, fostering a collaborative atmosphere as we work together to advance the field of music therapy. Please direct all questions and request for meeting accommodations to AMTAS President, Karina Colon Fuentes via email at [email protected]

2024 AMTAS student businesses meetings took place in October. Our annual business including budget / bylaw approval, elections, and reports will continue next year. See you then!
