Membership in AMTAS is open to any due-paying Student Member of AMTA. This includesstudents who are declared music therapy majors enrolled in AMTA-approved schools as well as other interested students. Student membership will provide the privilege of participation in the activities of the Association, both on the national and regional levels, and the right to receive the Journal of Music Therapy, Music Therapy Perspectives, imagine, AMTA.Pro, and other selected national and regional publications of the Association. Benefits of being an AMTAS member include but are not limited to: staying informed and connected, saving money, leadership opportunities, and networking. You can become a member by filling out an AMTA Membership Registration Form on the AMTA website. The student membership fee is currently $95. The membership year coincides with the AMTA membership year, beginning January 1 and ending December 31.For more details visit theAMTA website.
National Officers The following officers (except President) are elected by Student Members during the General Business Meeting at each AMTA National Conference in the fall for a year-long term: President-Elect, Vice President, Parliamentarian, Secretary, and Treasurer. Nominations will open a month before National Conference. Then at the first General Business Meeting floor nominations will be taken. Nominations will close at the end of the first General Business Meeting.
Regional Officers Regional officers are elected at regional conferences in the spring each year. Check with your region and representatives to see those that are available to you!
