AMTAS Leadership
National Officers The following officers (except President) are elected by Student Members during the General Business Meeting at each AMTA National Conference in the fall for a year-long term: President-Elect, Vice President, Parliamentarian, Secretary, and Treasurer. If you would like to know more take a look at the Position Descriptionspage, Download Officer Job Descriptions, or email one of your officers. Nominations will open a month before National Conference and when there is no conference, nominations will occur virtually for at least 2 weeks prior to the AMTA Symposium. In a year with a national conference, nominations will be taken at the first General Body Meeting and close at the end. When there is no conference, voting will occur virtually during the Symposium. All music therapy students, regardless of membership for the 2024 year, are eligible to run for a national office.
Regional Officers Regional officers are elected at regional conferences in the spring each year. Check with your region and representatives to see those that are available to you!
Standing Committees Representatives are typically chosen each spring and attend meetings during the AMTA National Conference in the fall. When there is no conference, representatives will be elected around the time of Symposium and can be nominated virtually. See Standing Committees for more information.
